A well balanced diet (three times a day) is not only good for your teeth, but also for your general health. Eating plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits, and nuts as snacks is great for your teeth. On the other hand, it’s best to avoid sugary and starchy food, as the bacteria in the mouth turns sugar into acid which attacks tooth enamel. This is the first step of tooth decay. Things like lollies, chocolate, soft drinks, and junk food should be kept at a minimum in between meals, or only be given as treats for special occasions.
Luckily, our water contains fluoride, so it is better to drink tap water over bottled water. If your child doesn’t like the taste of the tap water, we recommend water bottles with filters. They are available in stores.
